Why football is the best sport for developing coor Why football is the best sport for developing coordination and how our programs can help!

Coordination is the corner stone of any footballer.

The ability to use your feet, that are naturally cumbersome limbs, to control a fast-moving object and then move that object in a controlled and accurate manner is no easy feat.

Its why even top-level athletes, who have never kicked a ball look very awkward in doing so
.
Its hard to learn how to use your feet to do something your hands were designed to do.
To help develop your coordination sign up to our academy today!

In addition to developing important coordination our programs also provide the following physical benefits:

• Help contribute to healthy and active kids
• Develop important gross motor skills
• Develop strength and speed
• Develop healthy habits early

Learn how to handle yourself when the game is on t Learn how to handle yourself when the game is on the line and what it means to be clutch.

You hear the word “Clutch” a lot now in Australian Sport. This is an American term that derives mainly from the NBA. Clutch is a term used to describe an individual who is under extreme pressure and when the game is on the line could produce a moment of magic to come up with the win for their team.

Footballs’ equivalent to this is the term “Big Game Player”. Players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are examples of players who we would describe as big game players.

To learn how to handle yourself under pressure sign up to our Academy

In addition to learning how to deal with pressure our programs also provide the following mental benefits:

• Ability to develop resilience
• Better decision-making skills

Scanning, what is it and why do you need to be doi Scanning, what is it and why do you need to be doing it?

Scanning is potentially the most important part of an individual’s game. Scanning is the act of looking around in game and seeing what’s around you. In doing so recognising gaps, opportunities and threats. It is a taught skill that makes such a difference in the speed of play.

Think about it. If you scan effectively you will know where you want to move the ball next. Meaning you already know which way to send a defender to give yourself more time and space.

In defence, you will know where a threat may come from. So, you can tell your teammates to snuff out the danger or do it yourself.

To learn when and how to scan properly sign up to our academy today!

In addition to learning how to scan our programs also provide the following football constants benefits

• How to effectively lose your defender
• Communicate properly both in attack and defence
• Move off the ball so you are always free to receive

What do surfing and Football have in common? Pro What do surfing and Football have in common?

Probably more than you think!

They seem worlds apart, surfing is individual, on a board and most obviously in the water. Surfing however does have, twisting and turning movement, agility, and balance and above all explosiveness. Its this explosiveness we emulate as footballers. But to do this let’s look at how a surfer stands. They are low to the board, head is line with their toes not falling over but most importantly bent knees in a half squat position. This position is what gives surfers and footballers a like the ability to change direction quickly and explode out when doing a cut back or chasing after an attacker who has committed themselves to take you on.

You now know how they relate to each other, now come and apply this by signing up to either our Academy!

In addition to learning the correct body position to effectively defend. Our Academy also provides the following 1v1 defending benefits

• Learn how to use your opponent’s weaknesses against them
• To use your surroundings to help you
• What the priorities really are when defending
• How to tackle safe and win the ball
• To beat an attacker that is in front, diagonally, to the side or behind you
